The genus name is derived from geographical names Aden in Arabia, where the first plant was recorded. Adenia are very attractive plants, producing flowers in striking colors of red, pink, light purple, red and white. It is interesting caudiciformní decorative plants, suitable for growing in containers as bonsai.
