New book on succulents
Jan Gratias and John Nosek: euphorbias grown
On Monday 21 published in March this year Wake publishing the first Czech monograph on the succulent plants of the genus Euphorbia (spurge). The issue mainly for economic reasons has been delayed by more than two years, plus this is the last part of the series, which was published in publications including the strange plants and pachykauly caudex. This fact predetermined the graphic parameters of books, such as format, soft cover, chosen fonts and font color illustrated appendix on coated paper in the middle of custody.
The book has 156 pages of text and 32 pages of pictures. In addition to the detailed characteristics of the family and the genus includes botanical and practical classification of species of succulent euphorbias. It contains detailed instructions for growing 165 kinds or subspecies and 59 varieties of succulent euphorbias, most of which is still only in the collections of specialists, but on the contrary, some have already sold as ornamental plants in most supermarkets and buyers with them do not know how to deal them care. Representatives selected by botanical species are introduced to the group to 146 photographs in color image Annex. The introductory chapters added 12 line drawings depicting various types cyathií. An integral part of the book is a detailed index (not including the list of validly described species) and a comprehensive glossary of botanical terms-growing.
Of more than 2000 kinds of spurge is almost 700 species belonging to its adaptation of the body between the succulents. Trees for All Seasons is typical for up to an incredible diversity of shape, which for more than two centuries attracted the attention of lovers of exotic plants. The richness of shapes and growth forms of succulent spurge is the leitmotif of the book, which is divided into the following chapters:
